"Monko-Ju" innovation-driven platform

Let scientific and technological innovation resources form "fusion"

How long does it take for a scientific and technological achievement to go from the laboratory to the market? It is understood that in the past, it might take one or two years, three or five years, or even longer. Now it only takes six months, a speed derived from the "Monko-Ju" innovation-driven platform.

In the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region exhibition hall, the "Mongolia Science and Technology Gathering" innovation-driven platform, as the core display area, comprehensively displayed Inner Mongolia's latest achievements and cutting-edge technologies in the field of scientific and technological innovation, attracting many exhibitors to stop and discuss scientific and technological achievements, talents, and scientific and technological innovation policies. Visitors said that through the "Mongolia Science and Technology Gathering" platform, they have a deeper understanding of Inner Mongolia's scientific and technological innovation capabilities and development potential. These scientific and technological achievements not only represent Inner Mongolia's latest breakthroughs in the field of science and technology, but also provide strong support for the high-quality economic development of Inner Mongolia and even the whole country.

The visitors included experts and scholars from universities and research institutes, as well as technical R&D personnel and managers from enterprises. They all said that the "Mongolia Science and Technology Forum" platform provided them with a valuable opportunity for communication and cooperation, which would help promote the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements and promote the rapid development of scientific and technological innovation.

Technological innovation is the key to supporting the high-quality development of Inner Mongolia. To improve the scientific and technological innovation system of "R&D-transformation-incubation-industrialization", promote a closer integration of science and technology with the economy, and promote the efficient transformation of scientific and technological achievements, the autonomous region urgently needs an online and offline three-dimensional service platform that can aggregate scientific and technological resources, serve technology-based enterprises, and cultivate high-tech industrial clusters.

The 2023 work report of the autonomous region’s government pointed out that the autonomous region will make every effort to build a “Mongolian Science and Technology Innovation Network” to integrate functions such as scientific and technological research and development, capital operation, project incubation, results transformation, and intellectual property protection, and promote the "aggregation" and then "fusion" of innovative elements, so that the innovation-driven wheel can turn faster and faster.

The platform follows the concept and model of government guidance, market-oriented operation, professional support, and full-chain services, integrating functions such as scientific and technological research and development, capital operation, project incubation, results transformation, and intellectual property protection.

Data shows that as of the end of May this year, the "Mengkeju" science and technology innovation "one network" has brought together 4,472 innovation platforms and scientific research institutions, 3,443 innovative enterprises, and more than 12,000 scientific and technological talents. It has settled in 5,534 sets of shared large-scale scientific research instruments and equipment, 401 scientific research teams, and 50 science and technology financial institutions. It has collected 361 technical achievements and needs from the whole region, deployed 420 key scientific and technological projects of various types, and guided the establishment of 121 innovation alliances and 38 new R&D institutions across the region. It has newly cultivated 20 leading technology enterprises, 965 technology-based SMEs, and more than 300 high-tech enterprises, and realized the "one-stop service" of 14,000 business items.

As the overall platform for innovation-driven development in the entire region, "Mengkeju" has elevated the "innovation-driven" of the entire region to an unprecedented level, and it also means that the innovation and development of the autonomous region has entered a new stage.

Gathering the wisdom of university cooperation

Draw a blueprint for scientific research and innovation

The scientific research achievements exhibition area brings together research institutes that the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has signed contracts to jointly build with major universities across the country in recent years, fully displaying Inner Mongolia's latest progress and remarkable achievements in the field of scientific and technological innovation. The scientific research achievements exhibition area is not only a concentrated display of Inner Mongolia's scientific and technological innovation capabilities, but also a grand review of the results of cooperation between Inner Mongolia and universities across the country.

In recent years, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has vigorously carried out industry-university-research cooperation and signed contracts with major universities across the country to jointly build research institutes. Ordos Laboratory, Peking University Ordos Energy Research Institute, China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) Inner Mongolia Research Institute, Shanghai Jiaotong University Inner Mongolia Research Institute, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) Inner Mongolia Research Institute, Liaoning University of Engineering and Technology Ordos Research Institute, Henan Polytechnic University Ordos Coal Clean Development and Utilization Research Institute and other high-level scientific research institutions have been established. The entry of these research institutes has not only brought advanced scientific research concepts and technical support to Inner Mongolia, but also promoted the gathering of innovative elements such as talents, funds, and projects, injecting strong impetus into Inner Mongolia's scientific and technological innovation.

It is worth mentioning that these research institutes not only focus on the output of scientific research results, but also on the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements. They actively cooperate with enterprises to promote scientific research results from laboratories to production lines and from theory to practice. This deep integration model of industry, academia, research and application not only promotes the rapid transformation of scientific and technological achievements, but also provides enterprises with a steady stream of technical support and market opportunities.

Scientific research institutions established relying on the advantages of traditional industries and resource endowments continue to grow and develop. The National Cashmere Products Engineering and Technology Research Center takes it as its mission to promote technological progress and industrial structure adjustment in the cashmere textile industry. By undertaking key, basic, common and cutting-edge technical issues in the development of the industry, and the transformation and promotion of engineering technology and scientific research results, it has achieved fruitful results in industry basic research, applied research, and high-end and functional development of cashmere products, filling many gaps at home and abroad; the National Dairy Technology Innovation Center focuses on building a "100 billion-level industrial cluster" with the dairy industry as the core. Through industry-driven full-chain development, digital empowerment of smart cities, and green-led integration of industry and cities, it has created many global dairy industry bests, gathered the world's top dairy resources, and gradually become a "Chinese model" leading the industry's high-quality development.

In addition to these major scientific and technological achievements, the exhibition area also showcased Inner Mongolia's latest research and development results in the fields of biomedicine, equipment manufacturing, etc., and especially highlighted the achievements made in optimizing the business environment. In recent years, Inner Mongolia has taken optimizing the business environment as a breakthrough to change its work style and optimize the development environment, and has used the "excellence" of the business environment to promote the "activity" of market entities, drive the "increase" of investment projects, and ensure the "stability" of economic operations and the overall social situation, injecting vitality and momentum into the completion of Inner Mongolia's five major tasks. Ordos City's "Warm City·Five Hearts" business environment brand has become a national model.

In order to strengthen the top-level design of scientific and technological innovation to empower Inner Mongolia's high-quality development, the autonomous region and all leagues and cities have vigorously introduced preferential policies for scientific and technological innovation and talent introduction and cultivation. What is particularly eye-catching is that Ordos City has implemented eight actions for scientific and technological innovation, providing up to 200 million yuan in support for the construction of various innovation platforms and carriers, and up to 100 million yuan in support for the introduction of top talents.

With its outstanding scientific and technological innovation strength and unique industrial advantages, Ordos High-tech Industrial Development Zone has become a highlight of this exhibition. Ordos High-tech Industrial Development Zone was planned and constructed in May 2011, and was approved as an autonomous region-level high-tech zone in October of the same year. In February 2017, it was upgraded to a national high-tech industrial development zone with the approval of the State Council, becoming the third national high-tech zone in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the only national high-tech zone in Ordos City. In 2022, after integration and expansion, the total area will be 270.6 square kilometers. Focusing on the development positioning of "two places and two districts", the high-tech zone has formed a development pattern of "one zone and three parks" including high-tech industrial park, equipment manufacturing industrial park and light textile industrial park, vigorously developing four major leading industries of biomedicine, digital economy, equipment manufacturing and light industry and textile, and building seven characteristic industrial chains of wind, light, car, screen, wool, material and intelligence. The Hi-tech Zone has been approved for many national honorary titles, including the National Clean Energy International Innovation Park, the National Science and Technology Business Incubator, the National Small and Micro Enterprise Entrepreneurship and Innovation Demonstration Base, the National Foreign Trade Transformation and Upgrading Base, and the National Torch Ordos Automobile and Key Parts Characteristic Industrial Base.

This year's Science and Technology Expo not only provides Inner Mongolia with a valuable opportunity to showcase its scientific and technological innovation achievements and characteristic and advantageous industries, but also builds an important platform for exchanges and cooperation between Inner Mongolia and domestic and foreign enterprises and institutions. In the future, Inner Mongolia will continue to implement the innovation-driven development strategy, accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system, and promote high-quality economic development. At the same time, Inner Mongolia will also actively participate in various science and technology exhibitions at home and abroad, continuously enhance its own scientific and technological strength and influence, and make greater contributions to promoting scientific and technological progress and industrial development.
