Recently, Xiazhang Town in Daiyue District held an activity of "Remembering the revolutionary martyrs and paying tribute to the 97th anniversary of the founding of the army". Some retired staff members of the "Tricolor Flag" veterans volunteer service squadron of Xiazhang Town participated in the activity.
The participants first visited the Red Education Exhibition Room of the Veterans Service Station, which fully displayed the revolutionary deeds of the Xia Zhang Anti-Japanese Armed Uprising. The vivid characters and shocking pictures gave visitors a deeper understanding and insight into that arduous period.
After the visit, everyone went to the Jimingfan Martyrs' Cemetery to clean up. There are more than 10 martyrs who died heroically for the country's independence and the people's happiness. Their names will be recorded in history forever; their spirits will be immortal. The participants came to the martyrs' cemetery with reverence, carefully and meticulously, and painted gold on the martyrs' tombstones, solemnly and piously, making the martyrs' names more eye-catching under the golden light. Then the weeds and debris in the cemetery were cleaned up, making the entire cemetery clean and solemn.
Participants in the event said that on this special day, being able to remember the martyrs in this way is a responsibility and an honor. As retired soldiers, they will always remember the dedication and sacrifice of the martyrs, inherit the red gene, continue to carry forward the fine style of the soldiers in their work, and contribute their own strength to the development of Xiazhang Town.
