Recently, the suspenseful crime, black humor comedy film "The Courage of Cowardice" announced its release date and will be released nationwide on August 16.
The story of "The Courage of Cowardice" takes place within 24 hours. Six ordinary people are dragged into a vortex of "cheating and being cheated" by a bag. After experiencing layers of reversals, their love for life guides them to find new possibilities in life. The film creates a tense and absurd atmosphere through multi-line narratives and strong dramatic conflicts, combined with self-mockery and other plots.
The film is produced by Xia Lie, Dean of the Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries of Hangzhou Normal University, and Tao Ye, Vice Dean of the School of Arts/Pearl River Film Academy of Jinan University, and He Mingyan, Head of the Film and Television Art Department of the School of Cultural Creativity and Media of Hangzhou Normal University, serves as literary director. Yin Yuzhou, whose work was shortlisted for the "Belt and Road" section of the 28th Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival, serves as screenwriter and director, Zheng Yingge serves as chief producer, Xie Zhongshi, Bi Chongjin, He Lili, and Liu Yang serve as co-producers, Xue Wenjun and Li Jieqin lead the cast, and Wang Xiaoyi, Wang Shengju, Sun Le, Ma Zixuan, Wu Hao and others star.
"The Courage of Cowardice" is jointly produced by Weihai Jinzhao Film and Television Culture and Technology Development Co., Ltd., Rongcheng Deyi Film and Television Media Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Ruying Ruomeng Film and Television Planning Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Jishi Culture Media Co., Ltd. The film script won the top 15 "Thirty Years Old" scripts of the Zhejiang Youth International Film Festival and was shortlisted for the recommended project of the Zhejiang Provincial Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television Bureau. The film was shortlisted for the Best Newcomer Award at the 2024 Cannes International Film Awards in France and won the Best Newcomer Award at the 2024 Stockholm City Film Festival.
