The PLA fighter jets roared past, crossing the so-called "median line of the strait" 18 times. The Taiwan military watched helplessly as the mainland gradually tightened the encirclement.

Taiwan’s defense department observed that within 24 hours, 21 PLA fighter jets went out to sea, 18 of which crossed the so-called "middle line of the strait" several times, surrounding Taiwan from four directions, making the Taiwan military very nervous.

[The mainland does not recognize the so-called "median line of the strait"]

The so-called "median line of the strait" refers to a boundary that exists only in the imagination of the Taiwan military and the U.S. military. The U.S. military, with bad intentions, proposed this concept after discovering that the combat depth of Taiwan Island was insufficient due to the so-called "Taiwan-U.S. Mutual Defense Treaty."

This line extends roughly along the geographical central axis of the Taiwan Strait, from north to south. The northern end starts at the midpoint between the coastlines of Fujian Province and Taiwan Province, and reaches the southern end of the Taiwan Strait, roughly between the line connecting Shantou, Guangdong and Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

But in fact, this assumption is completely untenable. On the one hand, because Taiwan is part of the mainland, both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to China. The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council has clearly pointed out that the so-called "median line of the strait" does not exist.
