Our correspondent in Pakistan Cheng ShijieAccording to New Delhi TV, the Indian Air Force held a multinational joint exercise at the Sulur Air Force Base in southern Tamil Nadu on the 6th. Germany, France, Britain and other countries will send aircraft to participate in the exercise. Indian Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff, Air Marshal Singh said that this exercise is the largest joint air force exercise in India's history.According to Singh, the exercise will be held from August 6 to August 14. Australia, Bangladesh, France, Germany, Greece, Singapore, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States will send fighter jets, transport aircraft, aerial refueling aircraft and other air force models to participate in the exercise. Another 18 countries will participate in the exercise as observers. India will display its domestically produced fighter jets in this exercise and invite representatives from various countries to visit Indian technology companies.Indian Air Force General Chaudhary said that the Indian Air Force had experience in conducting bilateral joint exercises with the air forces of many countries, but the scale and complexity of this joint exercise with the air forces of 10 countries is unprecedented. Chaudhary said that this exercise will simulate various forms of air combat, such as air electronic warfare, radar penetration, and air defense operations, and will focus on simulating large-scale air combat, with large-scale air formations from different countries acting together. This is the first time that the Indian Air Force has conducted such an exercise in its 60 years of establishment.According to Radio France Internationale, India is currently looking to buy medium-sized military transport aircraft in the international market to replace the old Lockheed Martin C130 Hercules transport aircraft. The A400M military transport aircraft manufactured by Airbus was delivered in 2013 and is widely used by European air forces. It meets the standards and requirements of the Indian Air Force for procurement. Some European and American countries also want to take advantage of the exercise to demonstrate the performance of their fighter jets.Just a few days before the exercise began, Singh told the media that due to various reasons, the delivery of the new model Mk1A of India's domestically produced Tejas fighter will be delayed. According to The Hindu, the main reason for the delay is that General Motors announced that it had to delay the delivery of the F404 engine used in the Tejas fighter due to supply chain pressure. Currently, India's state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is negotiating with General Motors, hoping to manufacture the company's new generation F414 engine in India. ▲
