Recently, GAC Toyota, Guangzhou Children's Palace and China Red Cross Foundation jointly held the 2024 "Car Elf" CSO Creative Camp. The camp aims to "write a safe travel picture book and co-create a 'Car Elf' three-dimensional library" to encourage children to think independently about safe travel.
Safety and innovation remain the most important themes of this year's Creative Camp. Liu De, Director of the General Manager's Office and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility of GAC Toyota, said that over the past 20 years, GAC Toyota has always insisted on integrating safety awareness into every aspect of the company's production and operations. How to promote this safety awareness to the whole society and integrate it into children's daily lives has always been the core issue that the company has been concerned about. After 11 years of innovation and exploration, the overall level of the project has been continuously improving, and each year's works will have a qualitative leap, which will better encourage children to unleash their creativity and solve problems in innovative ways.
During the learning and experience of the Creative Camp, the students walked into the GAC Toyota production line, experienced the precise process of automobile manufacturing, understood the production steps of automobiles and how to integrate safety technology into them. The subsequent dialogue with automobile engineers further allowed them to absorb professional knowledge of automobile design and learn how to turn their ideal car from imagination into reality. The visit to the iconic buildings in Guangzhou opened their horizons and inspired them to think about the construction of travel scenarios from the perspective of urban planning.
At the camp results release conference on August 3, students talked about their creative ideas about safe and smart travel from the four dimensions of nature, society, technology, and culture, and displayed the "Car Elf" three-dimensional library they built by themselves.
Among them, the Hanlanshi Social Integration Town has created a more inclusive and convenient transportation environment. It not only pays attention to the travel needs of special groups, but also reflects the thinking about social welfare, which coincides with GAC Toyota's concept of practicing social welfare, and together inspires more positive forces; the Fenglanshi Cultural Integration Town reminds people to think about cultural relics protection and cultural heritage, and incorporates traffic safety knowledge into it; the Linghu Natural Integration Town conveys the concept of safe travel and environmental protection, calling on everyone to choose new energy vehicles for green travel and jointly maintain our beautiful home; the Weilanshi Technology Integration Town turns the scientific and technological knowledge learned in the GAC Toyota factory into moving stories, making the insights of the Creative Camp more profound.
The "Drive Spirit CSR Social Education Project" is one of the key projects of GAC Toyota's corporate social responsibility brand, and is also an original and distinctive project of GAC Toyota in the field of safety education. The project adheres to the safety education model of "co-creation with children", constructs a childlike worldview with the idea that "cars also have life", and transforms cars into "drive spirits" with vitality and warmth, encouraging children to inject imagination into practice and actively learn safety knowledge in co-creation.
