In order to continuously promote the standardized construction of grass-roots senior citizen schools, the Longguang Road Subdistrict Office of Wudang District, Guiyang City recently held a symposium on the standardized construction of senior citizen schools. More than 20 grass-roots senior citizen education teachers and art troupe leaders attended the symposium. Shen Chenggui, director of the Wudang District Senior Citizen Education Office and president of the District Senior Citizen University, attended the meeting to provide guidance.
The meeting conveyed and studied the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. At the symposium, Shen Chenggui listened to the introduction of the progress of the standardized construction of grassroots elderly schools by the head of the street elderly school, and the speeches of the teachers of dance, yoga, Tai Chi, folk music, gateball, soft ball, badminton and other classes in the community elderly school. He said that the elderly university (school) is an important part of the work and education of the elderly, and is an important platform for the elderly to learn new knowledge, make new friends, show new achievements, and exert positive energy. It is very meaningful to gather with representatives of teachers from various community elderly schools to discuss the curriculum setting of grassroots elderly schools and the methods and paths to improve the teaching quality. The Wudang District Elderly Education Office (Elderly University) will give full play to the advantages of high-quality teachers, actively explore the construction of a three-level elderly university (school) teacher sharing mechanism of "district, street, and community", and take the form of training guidance, door-to-door education, and mutual exchanges to actively build a platform for extending and integrating community elderly cultural and sports activities and exerting positive energy, and work together for the high-quality development of elderly cultural and sports undertakings.
After the symposium, Shen Chenggui visited the Zhenhua Community Senior School. Seeing the elderly who were carrying out learning activities in high spirits, graceful dancing and youthful vitality, he said that we should constantly explore and innovate in light of the actual situation of the street community, build a good position for senior schools, combine active actions with leveraging opportunities, deeply integrate senior education with senior sports, and do a good job in the "nine haves" of street senior schools and the "five haves" of community senior schools, and continue to promote the high-quality development of community senior education.
