Beijing Ecological Farms "Written" into Standard Map

Beijing News (Reporter Geng Ziye, Correspondent Xia Shengyin) On August 6, the reporter learned from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs that Beijing will collect and mark the locations of ecological farms, "write" them into Beijing's standard map, and make them into QR codes to be released to the public.
The standardized cultivation of ecological farms in Beijing began in September 2022. So far, 122 ecological farms have been cultivated, with outstanding territoriality, stability, and integrity, and a high product certification rate. There are 25 farms with an area of 30-99 mu, accounting for 20.5%, 85 farms with an area of 100-999 mu, accounting for 69.7%, and 12 farms with an area of 1,000 mu or more. Among them, there are 104 planting farms, 6 breeding farms, and 12 planting and breeding combined farms. Planting farms mainly grow vegetables (including strawberries and melons), fruits, and grains.
The main operators of these ecological farms are farmers' professional cooperatives, family farms, agricultural enterprises, and rural collective economic organizations, of which 57 are agricultural enterprises, accounting for nearly half. The heads of ecological farms tend to be young and highly educated. The farm owners have been operating for more than 5 years, of which second-generation farm owners account for 28%, those aged 30-45 account for 48.3%, those aged 45-55 account for 43.6%, and those aged 55 and above account for only 8.1%; in terms of educational level, 53.4% have a bachelor's degree or above, 36.2% have a junior college degree, and 10.4% have a high school or vocational high school degree. The heads of the 55 farm entities have also become the "leaders" and "new farmers" of the city's rural revitalization.
A relevant person in charge of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs introduced that this time Beijing will "write" ecological farms into the standard map, focus on the integrated development of agriculture and tourism, use modern digital means to weave a dense network of ecological farms in Beijing, and improve the "ecological farm" smart agriculture application scenario system to provide convenient services to the general public.
