Kuala Lumpur, August 7 (Reporter Chen Yue) The first integrated circuit design park in Malaysia, covering an area of 60,000 square feet, was launched in Puchong, Selangor on August 6. The launch of this park is regarded as a major move by the Malaysian government since the release of the Kuala Lumpur 20 Action Plan in April this year to vigorously develop the semiconductor industry.
Malaysian Economic Affairs Minister Rafizi, Selangor Chief Minister Amirudin, Selangor State Executive Councillor Wong Siew Kiong and others attended the opening ceremony on the same day.

According to officials from Selangor, the park has attracted five integrated circuit design companies and more than 400 engineers to settle in, and has carried out extensive cooperation with relevant semiconductor companies and industry associations in many countries and regions including China. In the future, the park will attract more companies to settle in. Huang Sihan said that the park aims to build a semiconductor ecosystem and promote Malaysia to seize the opportunities of digital economic development.
Malaysia has a solid foundation for the development of the semiconductor industry and is the world's sixth largest semiconductor exporter. In the first half of this year, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar announced that he would inject at least 25 billion ringgit (1 US dollar is about 4.47 ringgit) into the national semiconductor strategy to vigorously develop the semiconductor industry. The Malaysian and Selangor state governments hope to create "Selangor-designed, Malaysian-made" semiconductor products by launching an integrated circuit design park. (End)
