In order to enrich the summer life of young people in the area, publicize the ecological civilization concept of "planting green, protecting green, and loving green", and enhance green environmental awareness, Qiangang Community of Qinchuan Street, Changshu City recently launched an environmental protection theme activity of "Planting for Green".
At the beginning of the activity, volunteers and children held a garbage classification knowledge contest. Volunteers first introduced to the children what garbage classification is and why it is necessary to classify garbage, promoted the concept of low-carbon life, and encouraged everyone to become environmental volunteers. Later, in the knowledge contest, the children raised their hands and answered questions enthusiastically, "It turns out that coconut shells are other garbage!" "Old newspapers with oil stains cannot be considered recyclable garbage!" With applause and laughter, the children deepened their understanding of garbage classification knowledge while having fun.
Then, the volunteers explained the daily maintenance knowledge of succulents, especially the key points of planting such as watering, sunshine, and pest control. With the basic understanding of succulents, the children could not wait to become little gardeners and enthusiastically participated in it. They carefully transplanted and cleaned the plants, then filled the pots with soil, and finally covered the surface of the filled soil with stones to protect the succulents. After some efforts, pots of succulent potted plants full of vitality were completed. "This is the succulent I planted myself, I will take good care of it!" The children loved the succulents they planted and admired them repeatedly.
