Tesla plans to recall 1,683,627 vehicles due to safety concerns in front trunk latch system

For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, after the front trunk lid is unlocked, the front trunk latch assembly systemMay not detect unlocked hood,vehicleUnable to issue "front trunk unlocked" reminder, in extreme casesThis may cause the front hood to open while the vehicle is in motion., affecting the driver's field of vision, increasing the risk of vehicle collision, and posing a safety hazard.

Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will use the vehicle remote upgrade (OTA) technology to upgrade the software for vehicles within the recall scope for free. The upgraded vehicles can identify the faulty state of the front trunk latch and issue a text and buzzer prompt of "front trunk is not locked". At the same time, vehicles with faulty front trunk latches will be repaired free of charge to eliminate safety hazards. For vehicles that cannot be upgraded through OTA technology, the Tesla service center will contact relevant users to implement the recall.
