Message in a bottle found on the New Jersey coast (Social Media)
Overseas Network, August 5 According to a report by the New York Post on August 4, someone recently found a drifting bottle over a hundred years old on the coast of New Jersey, USA, which may contain the oldest message in a bottle to date.
Amy Smythe Murphy, 49, found an old green cork bottle while walking in a park in Ocean City, New Jersey on July 4. Inside was a business card from 1876 and a handwritten note. Murphy said, "It's fun to connect people in this way." The bottle was thrown into the water about 140 years ago, 10 years earlier than the earliest known bottle. Murphy has applied to the Guinness World Records and is still waiting for a response.
Murphy shared a video on social media, in which her family gently used toothpicks to remove rotten paper from the container. She said, "The smell inside is incredible." (Overseas Network Wang Shanning intern Wang Ruixuan)
