On August 5, The Paper (www.thepaper.cn) learned from China Eastern Airlines that as the world's first domestic large aircraft C919 airline, China Eastern Airlines has started to operate a new C919 route - Xi'an Xianyang to Beijing Daxing. This is the fifth commercial regular route of China Eastern Airlines' C919 after the Shanghai Hongqiao-Chengdu Tianfu, Shanghai Hongqiao-Beijing Daxing, Shanghai Hongqiao-Xi'an Xianyang, and Shanghai Hongqiao-Guangzhou Baiyun routes.

The flight number of China Eastern Airlines C919 from Xi'an Xianyang to Beijing Daxing is MU2113, which takes off from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport at 16:00 every day and is expected to arrive at Beijing Daxing International Airport at 17:40; and the flight number of Beijing Daxing to Xi'an Xianyang is MU2120, which takes off from Beijing Daxing International Airport at 20:00 every day and is expected to arrive at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport at 22:20.

The first flight of MU2113 was operated by a C919 aircraft with the aircraft number B-919D. At 16:05, the first flight took off from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport with 139 passengers and flew to Beijing Daxing International Airport.

Since China Eastern Airlines started commercial operation of C919 on May 28, 2023, the size of China Eastern Airlines' C919 fleet has grown to 7 aircraft. As of August 3, 2024, China Eastern Airlines' C919 fleet has carried out a total of 3,133 commercial flights and carried nearly 420,000 passengers.

Beijing Daxing and Xi'an Xianyang are important large-scale aviation hubs and also the core hub markets of China Eastern Airlines. As a national team of civil aviation, China Eastern Airlines is one of the main base airlines of Beijing Daxing International Airport and one of the airlines with the largest share of Xi'an Xianyang International Airport. The "Beijing-Shaanxi Express" created by China Eastern Airlines has 20 flights per day (round trip). Previously, China Eastern Airlines' C919 has already flown between Shanghai Hongqiao and Beijing Daxing and Xi'an Xianyang. China Eastern Airlines' teams in the two places have accumulated rich experience in C919 operation support, and have also created good conditions for the opening of this new C919 route.
