According to the latest report from Tom Warren, editor of The Verge, Xbox has issued a statement to the media confirming that the Xbox mobile store is undergoing testing.

"We've started testing the mobile store for browsers," Xbox communications director Kari Perez reportedly said. "We're progressing well and we'll have more to share in the future."

In fact, earlier this week, a post on social media by a netizen named Klobrille showed that the Xbox mobile store will be launched in the near future. The page currently still shows "coming soon" and mentions the reserved group during the testing process.

Xbox chief Sarah Bond first announced the mobile store in May, with plans for a July release, but it was never announced in July. Perez did not provide further details on the reason for the delay, nor a specific date for the update.

Bond confirmed at the time that the Xbox mobile store would start with a portfolio of first-party titles, including popular games like Minecraft. She also said the store would start with the web page because it is accessible "in all countries and on all devices."

Xbox will host its "largest booth yet" at Gamescom 2024 later this month, with more than 50 games on display.
