Fast Technology reported on August 2 that Qualcomm's Snapdragon PC notebooks are actually the fourth generation, but for the latest Snapdragon X Elite/Plus notebooks, the biggest concern or worry, in addition to ecological compatibility, is the price... too expensive!

In China, the cheapest Snapdragon X laptop is the Acer Swift Go Pro, which costs 6,599 yuan. It was only briefly priced at 5,999 yuan during its initial launch.

Then there is the ASUS 0400 Pro 15 2024, which currently costs 8,199 yuan, which is 200 yuan more expensive than the initial release.

Others include: Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 starting at 8,388 yuan, Microsoft Surface Pro 11 starting at 8,688 yuan, Lenovo Yoga Air 14s starting at 9,969 yuan, Lenovo ThinkPad T14s starting at 10,999 yuan, and Dell Latitude 7455 starting at 12,999 yuan.

Overseas, Snapdragon X laptops are generally priced above $1,000, such as the Asus Intrepid Pro 15 2024 on Newegg for $1,260 and the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s for $1,220.

Of course, there are also some ruthless ones, such as the HP OmniBook X, which was initially priced at $1,200 and is now reduced to $899.99.

Qualcomm is obviously aware of this problem. Qualcomm CEO Amon stated at the quarterly financial meeting: "Looking forward to 2025, in addition to new product designs, the retail price of Snapdragon X series notebooks will be as low as US$700 without sacrificing NPU AI performance."

Since the price difference between China and foreign countries cannot be simply calculated based on the exchange rate, but looking at the current situation, if it can be done as it says, the price of Snapdragon X notebooks in China is expected to be as low as 5,000 yuan.

Of course, the lowest price cannot tell everything. We still need to lower the mainstream price to around 6,000 to 7,000 yuan to be more reasonable.
