From August 1st to 25th, the 2024 VALORANT Global Championship will be held in Seoul, South Korea. This is the last event of the VALORANT Championship Tour and also the largest event, representing the pinnacle of the entire VALORANT season. The world's top 16 teams will gather together to compete for the title of world champion.

VALORANT is a multiplayer first-person shooter game.

Over the past year, in order to qualify for the event, the world's top teams have competed fiercely in international leagues and global competitions. Among them, 12 teams ranked in the top three in their respective international leagues and directly advanced to the Global Championship. The other 4 teams qualified for the Global Championship through the championship points earned during the season.

According to the rules of the competition, 16 teams are divided into four groups. Each group includes one team from each of the four international leagues of Valorant. The group stage will be held from August 1st to 11th. Each team will participate in a double-elimination tournament, and two teams will eventually advance from each group.

The knockout stage will be held from August 14 to 25. The eight teams that advance from the group stage will be randomly divided into groups and play a double-elimination tournament. Teams in the same group will adopt the avoidance principle. Each team in the knockout stage will play a best-of-three format, and the last two games will be a best-of-five format. The winning team will become the world champion of Fearless Esports.

It is reported that the event will start at COEX Shinhan Card Artium, the home of the VCT Pacific International League, and end at INSPIRE Arena.

Earlier this month, the 2024 VCT CN League annual finals came to an end, and the four teams representing the CN region in the global championship were decided. Among them, the champion and runner-up EDG and FPX will participate as the first and second seeds of the CN region. TE and BLG will also defend the honor of the CN region together.

It is worth mentioning that the Valorant CN Division has always cherished the opportunity to participate in the world championship. As a division that started late, China's Valorant e-sports has developed rapidly in the past year and has formed a stable league mechanism. In February of this year, the 2024 Valorant Championship Tour CN League kick-off match was held at the "Valorant Arena" on the south side of the Expo Rainbow Bridge in the Puxi Park of the Shanghai World Expo. This marks the continuation of theLeague of LegendsFollowing professional leagues and other projects, another major new e-sports league has officially landed in Shanghai.

So far, the performance of CN teams in international competitions has not been impressive enough. Feng Xiao, general manager of Tencent Esports' Fearless eSports, emphasized that better international results can not only attract more fans in the domestic market, but also enhance the influence of the event on a global scale.

In view of this, the developing CN region needs to gain more experience in international competitions and grow as quickly as possible through exchanges with high-level teams around the world. The four teams representing the CN region are all strong teams that have fought their way through the league, especially EDG, which has already had a lot of experience in international competitions. They are eager to prove themselves on the stage of the global championship. What kind of report card will they hand in in the end, and what is the gap between Chinese teams and the highest international level? The answers will be given in less than a month.
