After being accused of excessive content crawling, AI search company Perplexity reaches agreement with publishers

IT Home reported on July 31 that AI search company Perplexity has been accused of excessive data crawling for several weeks.The company has launched a new partnership program to share advertising revenue with publishing partners.

IT Home Note: Perplexity’s “Publisher Program” has recruited its first batch of partners, including well-known companies such as Time, Der Spiegel, Fortune, Entrepreneur, Texas Tribune and Automattic (WordPress.com is involved, but Tumblr is not included).


Under the program, publishers will receive a share of advertising revenue when Perplexity runs their content in response to user queries.

Publishing partners will also receive a free one-year subscription to Perplexity’s Enterprise Professional Edition, access to Perplexity’s developer tools, and insights through Scalepost.ai.
