Last December, Games Workshop, the holder of the "Warhammer" IP, announced that it had reached an agreement with Amazon, granting it "exclusive rights to films and TV series set in the "Warhammer 40k" universe", with the famous movie star Henry Cavill as the executive producer and starring actor of the film.

New information revealed in the annual financial report released on Tuesday shows that the two teams of Games Workshop and Amazon must finalize the creative guidelines for the "Warhammer 40,000" adaptation by December this year, otherwise the deal will be canceled because this agreement "will only proceed if both parties agree to the creative guidelines."

Amazon wants to retain as much creative freedom as possible to manage budgets and adapt to its production processes. Games Workshop's financial report points out their attitude towards "intellectual property": "Failure to protect our intellectual property may weaken our competitive advantage or damage our reputation, which would have a negative impact on our financial performance."

It is not clear how these negotiations are progressing, and we will continue to follow and report on subsequent developments, so stay tuned.
