Early this morning, Elon posted:

"FSD 12.5.1 is now in wide release. PleaseTeslaConnect to WiFi to receive updates."

Farzad asked if this version includes support for HW3 hardware. Elon replied:

A lot of effort needs to be spent on software to optimize the code in order to run on HW3. It also needs to be verified separately. It is expected to take 10 days to launch.”

Tesla's official account on the X platform reposted a FSD 12.5.1 video released by the car owner AI DRIVR. In the video, after participating in the XTakeover event, FSD automatically drove the car out of an unmarked parking lot and drove away on a small road.

Tesla account comments:

"Supervised FSD 12.5 can find its way around parking lots and unmarked roads."

Elon's comment:

From here on, it will improve greatly.

A week ago, Tony Duan, the head of FSD 12.5, announced the release of this major version at X. He said:

“In order to create FSD 12.5, the entire team has put in a lot of hard work and spent countless sleepless nights.

Many ideas were simplified and redesigned from first principles.

I hope you all get a chance to try it out. This is a release we’re very proud of.”

Ashok, the head of autonomous driving, also wrote that with the 12.5 being well received, the team is now full of energy:

"As we move toward a broader rollout of Version 12.5, I am filled with gratitude to the talented Tesla AI team. The team is now full of energy and can’t wait to get to work every morning!

At the XTakeover event held early yesterday morning, Elon was interviewed by John, chairman of the California Tesla Club. He briefly introduced the new capabilities and features brought by FSD version 12.5.

John:

Is there any progress on FSD for Cybertruck?

Elon:

I think it will be released in August, version 12.5...

John:

So that's two weeks later.

Elon:

Yes, within the next two to four weeks.I'm not sure exactly when because we have to test it and make sure it works well.

But version 12.5 will include a lot of stuff.

We will upgrade the Autobahn technology stack to the latest version. You are still using the old highway technology stack and the new city technology stack. It is important to have a unified and integrated state-of-the-art highway plus urban technology stack.

There are also some small features, such as,You can wear sunglasses and take your hands off the steering wheel.

Then, make it work on Cybertruck.

I have a friend who drove a Cybertruck across half the country. He said he was going crazy. Not being able to turn on FSD drives him crazy.

Then, Elon looked forward to how the driving (riding) experience will change when FSD evolves to unsupervised mode, and how this change will benefit Moutai.

John:

What impact will it have on future transportation?

Elon:

Well, if you don't need to drive, you're actually sitting in a little lounge. Then, you can watch a movie, play video games, or work.

The car becomes a small mobile lounge where you can sleep and do whatever you want.

You can drink alcohol, because you are not driving.

It's like a little mobile lounge. You don't have to focus on driving. It's a decidedly different experience.
