IT Home reported on July 28 that Tesla began pushing the FSD (Supervised) v12.5.1 update to users. It is reported that this version contains many improvements, including the integration of city and highway driving functions, and supports the Cybertruck model for the first time.

Tesla FSD (Supervised) v12.5.1 began to be pushed to some users' vehicles on Friday. According to the Not a Tesla App platform, the update was pushed together with the 2024.20.15 software. In the previous weeks, Musk had repeatedly announced some of the features of this version. A major highlight of the new version is earlier and more natural lane changes.

IT Home noted that this version is highly anticipated because Musk said in May that FSD will be first installed on Cybertruck in version 12.5. At the same time, he also revealed that Tesla plans to start pushing version 12.5 in late June and significantly reduce the number of interventions per mile.

Recently, Musk also said that FSD 12.5.x version will finally integrate the urban and highway driving software stack. In addition, the new version allows drivers to wear sunglasses when FSD assisted driving is enabled, while the previous version would prompt the driver to stay focused.

Musk also said that Tesla's "Actual Smart Summon" (ASS) feature will be launched with the FSD 12.5.x version, and pointed out that it is "independent code" from FSD, but will be pushed together.

As of press time, Tesla has not yet started pushing the update to any vehicles equipped with HW3 hardware. Musk recently said that the company will first focus on the Model Y equipped with HW4 hardware before pushing FSD 12.5 version to other models.
