CCTV News:In addition to the deep integration of the real economy and the digital economy, it is also crucial to promote high-quality economic development and improve the system and mechanism for developing new quality productivity in accordance with local conditions. The development of large artificial intelligence models is inseparable from the support of intelligent computing power. At present, many places across the country are increasing investment in the construction of intelligent computing centers and improving computing power supply based on their respective advantageous resource endowments.

The reporter saw in Shanghai Lingang that a newly built large-scale intelligent computing center covering an area of 84 acres has just been put into use.

At present, Shanghai has gathered a large number of artificial intelligence-related industries such as autonomous driving and humanoid robots, and the demand for intelligent computing power is growing rapidly. The person in charge said that the biggest advantage of building an intelligent computing center locally is that it is closer to customers and can quickly provide services according to demand.

In addition to the server room, you can also see colorful cold water pipes and super-large substation switchgear in the intelligent computing center. Li Guo, director of the Shanghai Lingang International Data Port Construction Office, told reporters that large intelligent computing centers like theirs must now be equipped with dedicated refrigeration facilities and power guarantees.

In recent years, many large computing centers have chosen to be located in the western region, transmitting data with low latency requirements to the west, enjoying the rich local resources such as wind, solar, and hydropower, which has become another option for development in accordance with local conditions. Just this week, a new computer room building started construction in a large data center in Zhongwei, Ningxia. This data center combines general computing power and other capabilities, and intelligent computing has become their new growth point.

From "Eastern Data and Western Computing" to a National Integrated Computing Network to Promote Regional Coordinated Development

The Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee also proposed to improve the implementation of the strategic mechanism for regional coordinated development. In the computing power industry, with the in-depth implementation of the "Eastern Data and Western Computing" project in the past two years, accelerating the construction of a nationwide integrated computing power network has also become a new task. How to efficiently coordinate and allocate computing power resources distributed across the country to better promote regional coordinated development? Let's continue.

The person in charge of Ningxia Zhongwei Cloud Data Center told reporters that in the past two years, they have specially created the "Mining Cloud" cooperation project between Fujian and Ningxia. Now, the increasing demand for intelligent computing in the park mainly comes from the eastern region.

As more computing power is deployed in the west, the frequent and rapid call for data also puts higher demands on network support capabilities. With the full connection of the eight hub nodes in the domestic "East Data West Computing" cluster, more and higher-speed optical cable lines are gradually being built.

It is understood that at present, the country has planned and built 181 "East Data West Computing" trunk optical cables, opened 26 Internet backbone direct connection points, and promoted the 20 millisecond latency circle of the national computing power hub node to cover major cities across the country. All parties in the industry are also working hard to promote the unification of resource interfaces and network protocols of various computing power manufacturers, and accelerate the formation of a national computing power "one network" and a unified large market.

Related research shows that computing power is becoming an important indicator for measuring the quality of economic development of a country or region. Every 1 percentage point increase in the computing power index can bring about a 3.3‰ increase in the digital economy and a 1.8‰ increase in GDP.
