IT Home reported on July 27 that Musk’s social platform X has been shut down without clearly notifying users. The user tweets are used to train the Grok AI model, and this option is enabled by default.

The X platform states in the relevant setting description:

To continually improve your experience, we may use your X posts as well as user interactions, inputs, and results with Grok for training and fine-tuning.

This also means that your interactions, inputs and results may also be shared with our service provider xAI for these purposes.

Users can also turn off this option. The steps are as follows:

Open X using a web browser on your Mac or PC and log in.

Click More in the left navigation bar.

Select Settings and Privacy.

Uncheck "Allow your posts and your interactions, inputs, and results with Grok to be used for training and fine-tuning."
