Developer Bungie recently revealed that it is adjusting the drop rates of some of the most popular equipment in Destiny 2 and will launch an update in August that will allow players to more easily farm exotic class equipment and hero weapons.

In the developer weekly update, the official shared what changes will be included in the 8.0.5 patch of the August update. First, Exotic Class Equipment will drop from chests opened in the Pale Heart of the Traveler, including the reward chests for playing the Wave Defense "Onslaught" mode activity. The update will increase the chance of Exotic Class Equipment dropping every time the player plays the mode until the player obtains one. Higher difficulty will increase the drop rate faster.

Additionally, Bungie will increase the chances of receiving additional Exotic gear through weekly quests: Playing Dual Destiny each week will earn you one Exotic gear with random attributes, and playing with a friend will earn you another gear with fixed attributes.

The drop rate of Valorant weapons will also be increased. This is a series of returning weapons that came with the game's free update "Into the Light". Bungie will now introduce weapon focus, allowing players to focus on a weapon to increase its drop rate, and get more specific weapons from the "Onslaught" mode.
