Late that night, Shangrao City issued a notice stating that after noticing the online reports about Wannian County Party Committee leader Mao, the Municipal Party Committee attached great importance to it and immediately set up a joint investigation team to conduct an investigation and verification. A reporter from Nandu found that on June 17 this year, the official account of Shangrao Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, "Shangrao Qingfeng", released news that Li Peixia was under investigation, and mentioned that Li Peixia, secretary of the Party Committee of Shangfang Township, Wannian County, "is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and has taken the initiative to confess the problems to the organization. On the morning of July 26, a reporter from Nandu called the township unit where Li Peixia once worked, and the staff confirmed that after Li Peixia was investigated, the position of Party Secretary of Shangfang Township was taken over by Chen Bo, who was once the deputy secretary of the Party Committee and mayor of Dayuan Town, Wannian County.

Public information shows that Li Peixia, female, Han nationality, was born in May 1983 in Wannian. She has a postgraduate degree and started working in December 2001. She has worked in the Wannian County Women's Federation, Peimei Town, and Shangfang Township, and served as the head of the Shangfang Township Party Committee for many years.

Mao, who was reported by real name this time, was born in March 1982, from Shangrao, with a university degree. He started working in December 2003 and began working in Wannian County in January 2020, successively serving as deputy secretary of the county party committee, acting county chief, and county chief. Since July 2021, he has served as secretary of the Wannian County Party Committee. On July 24 this year, he also presided over the Wannian County Party Committee Standing Committee (expanded) meeting and the county-wide leading cadres meeting.
