Zhao's regular script is indeed a very rigorous font, and he often writes very well when he is serious. However, in running script, it is just the opposite. His best works are all written casually.

Zhao spent his whole life serving the Yuan Dynasty as a descendant of the Song Dynasty. He was very cautious and careful. Although he had a keen eye and a high level of vision, the power of rules was extremely strong in his writing, so that most of his works when he was serious would fall into a kind of deliberate pursuit of perfection.
