IT Home reported on July 23 that Cadillac today released a new pure electric 2+2 convertible concept car called Sollei, and the mass production time is unknown.

Today, Cadillac unveiled the SOLLEI concept car, the ultimate design expression of a luxury electric convertible. This imaginative design explores the boundaries of future custom commissions and is designed to reflect the customer’s unique passions and interests.

It is reported that the exterior of this car was designed by Takahiko Suginoshita. Its name comes from "sol" (representing the sun) and "lei" (representing leisure). This is also Cadillac's first fully hand-made concept car in half a century.

The wheelbase and length of the Sollei concept car are the same as those of the Celestiq, and all the body designs before the A-pillar are the same, but after the A-pillar it has its own style, such as the 170cm long doors, headlights and taillights, and the lack of traditional door handles, making the overall look quite simple.

Cadillac didn't reveal specific details about the electric powertrain, but it's based on the same Ultium platform as the Celestiq and even has the same 55-inch display.

The Cadillac Sollei features a Manila Cream Aurora paint scheme both inside and out, inspired by the northern and southern lights, a design first seen on 1957 and 1958 Cadillacs.

Cadillac's customized models all use real original materials, and specifically emphasize "no plastic", but Cadillac Celestiq design director Erin Crossly said that "real metal is used in places that look like metal."

As shown in the picture, the Cadillac Sollei uses a lot of wood trim inside, showing its original natural color and texture, and the Nappa leather is also painted with pink pigment.

Cadillac says the pattern is meant to mimic "sun rays" and is said to give a sunrise-like effect when exposed to daylight.

There's an onboard refrigerator between the rear seats, complete with a custom set of crystal glasses and a decanter.

Cadillac says the Sollei was also designed to appeal to "bird connoisseurs," so a set of 3D-printed bird whistles are placed inside the car, as well as a special leather journal to record the owner's findings.
