How to create a "Nordic" atmosphere in a noisy city? In fact, you only need a home full of warmth and tranquility. Warm wooden furniture, simple and smooth lines, and soft light colors create a peaceful and warm atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy a quiet time.

The owner's 70-square-meter home is located next to the Beijing Bird's Nest. There are three windows on the west side of the living room, which offer a panoramic view of the magnificent views of the Olympic Sports Center, the Bird's Nest and other landmark buildings. Whenever the weather is clear, the sunset glow in the evening fills the sky, and the sunset glow is reflected in front of the window, and the scenery by the window is beautiful.

In order to maximize the enjoyment of this beautiful window view, three comfortable viewing positions are set up in front of the window, each equipped with soft cushions and a small coffee table, which blends in with the scenery. When the Bird's Nest holds a fireworks show, you can enjoy every carefully designed fireworks show up close without going out.

For the homeowner, an ideal home is a haven where one can unwind and relax as soon as they step into the door, no matter how busy their daily life is. The environment is created by people, and it also shapes the future life experience. A pleasant home is not only a warm haven in the city, but also a place where you can write a new chapter of life with yourself in a subtle way.

Different from the magnificent scenery outside, the interior decoration of the room is designed in Nordic style, which is exquisite and warm.

Floor plan before renovation

The original layout of the house is a small three-bedroom apartment with a construction area of 81㎡ and an interior area of 70㎡. The public area and bathroom are relatively small. The owner lives alone, so he hopes to change the three-bedroom apartment into a two-bedroom apartment to make the usable area of each part of the space more spacious and more in line with his living needs.

Floor plan after renovation

In terms of the overall apartment layout, the northwest bedroom was opened up, transforming the living room from the original small vertical hall into a spacious horizontal hall, which fully brings in light from the west.

Secondly, the original restaurant space was expanded to the bathroom to improve the bathroom experience. The entrance position of the master bedroom was changed to free up a complete TV wall. The 90-degree corner window of the balcony was raised to design tatami, giving a sense of overlooking the Olympic Sports Center from the clouds.

Finally, the soft furnishings are basically made up of carefully selected Nordic designer works, which are both design-oriented and practical. For example, the classic Nordic sofa in the corner of the living room is matched with a soft wool carpet and a simple coffee table; the dining table is made of soft and comfortable materials, allowing you to enjoy a warm dining time; the soft and glutinous bedding and simple cabinet design in the bedroom reflect the comfort and practicality of the Nordic style everywhere.

These detailed plans from large to small not only enrich the living experience, but also make the space more vivid and fun.

Since the house is only 2.45 meters high, it is necessary to run pipes from the kitchen to the bathroom when laying water and electricity, so the ceiling becomes a necessary design element. In order to ensure that the pipeline layout is convenient and not oppressive, the top surface is arched and an upward lighting design is added to create a visual effect of vertical extension.

Opening the door, you will see a simple entrance space. The corridor space is dominated by white and wood elements, and a shoe cabinet and a large wardrobe are designed against the wall, which fully meets the storage needs of the home.

After passing through the entrance hall, you will see the spacious living and dining room. After the renovation of this integrated space, there are windows on the north and west sides of the living room to bring in natural light, which fully improves the indoor lighting effect. Even though a large amount of walnut and brick red decorations are used, it does not look dull.

Since the owner eats alone most of the time, a round table is the most space-saving choice. It is also matched with three different dining chairs: Jacobsen's Gold Award Chair, TON's 763 Dining Chair, and &Tradition's In Between Chair. The dark wood color is matched with the white travertine tabletop, with clear layers, and the color and texture complement each other.

In order to increase the storage space, an MCM-style sideboard was specially selected next to the dining table to share the storage of items in the dining area. The decorative paintings on the wall are from the owner's own photographs. Four frames were selected and combined to become the best decoration for this corner.

The playful Gubi Semi chandelier on the dining table contrasts beautifully with the &Tradition wall lamp and white table lamp, creating a unified and artistic overall style.

The refrigerator and hidden water dispenser are both located on one side of the dining table for easy access. The black walnut veneer adds an unexpected sense of luxury. It is an element that the owner loves. The dark wood tone is more luxurious, making the entire space more elegant and unique.

The cabinet partition wall was intentionally made flush with the TV wall, creating a square, long space in the living room, which looks more neat and tidy.

On the other side of the dining table is a north-facing balcony, and the outer side of the counterweight wall has been transformed into a bookshelf to display the collected records and books. Such a small idea is not only beautiful and practical, but also adds a lot of fun to life.

Walking into the Nordic-style living room, the dark-colored floor is laid in a unique way, and the middle area is framed by metal strips, which looks particularly exquisite. Since the owner prefers to use the wall flexibly and does not like customized furniture, the TV wall uses a String display stand, which is matched with a bracket TV, so that the space layout can be adjusted at will.

The west-facing windows of the living room cleverly integrate the owner's office area and rest area, with smooth traffic lines and neat structures, making full use of the space. In order to increase the sense of depth visually, the structure of this piece is treated with walnut color, and the wall paint uses the Maillard color system. The dark wood color echoes the color of the restaurant chandelier, and the overall style is harmonious and unified.

At the same time, a bay window and bookshelf where you can relax, drink tea, and watch the sunset become a cozy resting place in a busy schedule. This design is not only practical, but also adds endless poetry and comfort to the space.

The entrance to the master bedroom is moved to the bay window, which not only leaves a flat TV wall, but also complements the design of the balcony arch. There is a reading area and a large wardrobe outside the bed, which is both functional and beautiful.

The walnut-colored bedside is continued, and the bedside lamps are &Tradition's Copenhagen chandelier and HAY's lock table lamp, which enhance the lighting atmosphere at night.

The spacious balcony is paved with a platform as a whole, and partially raised and covered with cushions.

The second bedroom is planned for parents to stay occasionally. In order to avoid idle space, a cloakroom is separated for convenient storage of clothes. The partition wall is designed with round glass windows to bring in light, making the whole room bright and transparent.

The bathroom was originally located opposite the entrance and the space was very small. By extending the corner area of the original restaurant to the bathroom, the space was significantly increased, and the dry and wet areas were separated at the same time. The outside of the bathroom wall is connected to the water bar, sideboard and refrigerator, and the laundry area is integrated into the bathroom area on the inside.

Since it is a dark bathroom, the designer used soft film ceilings in the laundry and washroom areas to simulate natural light, which enhances the brightness of the space. An air duct is designed between the shower area and the washroom area, and a black niche is embedded in the partition wall to store paper towels, toiletries and aromatherapy, which is both clever and practical.

A good residence can help us find peace in the noisy world and relax our mind and body. Here, we can think quietly, re-examine our lives and goals, and seek inner balance and peace.
