Bandai Namco previously released a trailer for the DLC character Mishima Heihachi for Tekken 8, which means that Mishima Heihachi will return to the game. According to IGN, IGN recently interviewed Tekken 8 game director Katsuhiro Harada, who revealed the reason why Mishima Heihachi returned to Tekken 8.

Katsuhiro Harada said: "Tekken 7 focuses on the story between Heihachi Mishima and his son Kazuya Mishima. Heihachi Mishima has died in this game. But when Tekken 8 was released, we felt that players missed Kazuya Mishima, so we let him return to Tekken 8."

"It's too early to talk about many details about Heihachi Mishima, but I can give some hints that he has a very strong play style throughout the Tekken series, so we want to recreate that in Tekken 8," said Katsuhiro Harada.
