The current situation on the Russian-Ukrainian battlefield is that the Russian army is advancing on all fronts, and reports of taking over a few settlements are no longer news.

We have been waiting for the Ukrainian army to achieve some outstanding results on the battlefield, especially in the "only" counterattack direction north of Kharkov, whether it can use the assembled superior mobile forces to counterattack the Russian army.

However, even on the battlefield in northern Kazakhstan, the Ukrainian army's counterattack is still difficult; if we want to see a phased victory, we may have to wait a while.

Then let's review the Ukrainian army's recent achievements in destroying the Russian S300Anti-aircraft missilessystems, drones bombed the Russian air force base, and so on; but in the face of the continuous retreat of the front line, these "old tricks" are no longer as eye-catching as before.

So it is not easy to find some information about "Strong Ukraine", so let's find some easier information about the Ukrainian army:

Let’s talk about the unit in the Ukrainian Army that has the most comfortable life and is least worried about casualties - the 13th Jaeger Brigade.

We have mentioned before that the Ukrainian army actually has two strategic reserve forces:

The first is the more than 10 newly-built brigades of the 14th and 15th series, which are currently in the process of being equipped and have no actual combat experience;

The second is the main force of the Marine Corps currently being prepared in Kherson. This unit has basically completed its rest and has sufficient combat experience. It is the most powerful mobile force currently available to the Ukrainian army.

In fact, outside these two sequences, there is also the "detached" 13th Jaeger Brigade.

This brigade was formed in early 2023. In fact, it was formed at the same time as the new troops participating in the great counter-offensive. Later, perhaps due to insufficient resources, the formation of the brigade was delayed, and therefore it did not participate in the great counter-offensive.

After subsequent brigades were formed, the brigade received a good task that was "like a pie in the sky": to be on guard in the direction of Belarus, thus avoiding being transferred to the Donbas, Kharkov or Zaporizhia battlefields to participate in the war.

Because in the early days of the Russo-Ukrainian war, the Russian Army's V Group moved southward from Belarus to Kiev. Later, after the main force of the Russian army withdrew, it still left troops stationed in Belarus and participated in the establishment of the "Russian-Belarusian Regional Joint Force."

In fact, the purpose of this move is not only to further strengthen the military ties between the two countries, but more importantly to attract a large number of Ukrainian troops near the border to reduce the pressure on the Russian offensive on the main battlefield.

After all, the Russian troops stationed in White Russia at the time were not enough to launch an attack, and sending the White Russian army mainly to the south was not only politically unfeasible, but also insufficient in terms of military strength.

Therefore, the troops stationed near the Ukrainian-Belarusian border have become the most comfortable troops in the Ukrainian army, and they actually pose no real military threat.

Apart from digging fortifications and strolling around the forest for "drills" every day, it was truly a heavenly day of "eating hot pot and singing songs".

However, the Ukrainian army is not stupid. It did not station too many regular troops on the border as the Russian army expected. For a long time, only the 13th Jager Brigade has enjoyed this treatment; in addition, there are a number of territorial defense forces and the National Guard, as well as some direct troops in Kiev and the rear.

Therefore, if anyone wants to "serve in the military and avoid casualties", it is best to serve in the above-mentioned forces.

After Silsky took office as the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, he believed that Ukraine's mobilization indicators could be temporarily lowered. The main premise was that he found a large number of available troops in the rear-line troops, as well as some troops that had never been to the front line to participate in the war. These ready-made military forces could directly "tear down the west wall to repair the east wall."

However, despite Silsky's re-audit and new troop transfer orders, it did not affect the status of the 13th Jaeger Brigade in the slightest.

Even after the fighting broke out north of Kharkov, Silsky withdrew mobile forces from all fronts, even the 101st Brigade of the General Staff and the Joint Infantry Brigade of the Air Force guarding Kiev were transferred away.

But sorry - 13th Jaeger Brigade, don't move!

Moreover, some time ago, the 13th Jaeger Brigade, together with the National Guard, participated in a deterrence operation against Belarus; of course, a war would definitely not break out, as the Ukrainian army did not have many regular troops.

However, as long as the 13th Jaeger Brigade puts forward its own mission, no one can say that the Ukrainian army should not deploy troops when dealing with the northern direction.

Therefore, the 13th Jaeger Brigade has every reason to shut up outsiders.

Now that their mouths can be blocked, the 13th Jaeger Brigade will have sufficient reasons to stay on the border; because there has been no specific war and the probability of a war in the future is not high, this brigade will naturally be able to live a god-like life in a fully equipped and staffed state.

After all, everyone can see what the troops on the front line are experiencing; even the Marines in Kherson are hit by two gliders from time to time.Guided bomb

Living in a well-maintained, clean bunker in the wooded area north of Kiev with no shortage of supplies was a far cry from what the troops on the front were experiencing.

From what we have seen so far, the 13th Jaeger Brigade does not seem to have any tank units. Its infantry is mainly composed of wheeled vehicles, and it has organized four Jaeger battalions and corresponding artillery, air defense and service support units at once.

Because it has been trained for a long time, although it has no practical experience, it can still fight if it is pulled out.

Now Ukraine is very dissatisfied with the declining situation on the front line, and is also dissatisfied with the fact that there is still a complete brigade in the north of Kiev that has never participated in the war.

Therefore, unless the 13th Jaeger Brigade has "admissions from above" and a stronger background than the 101st Brigade of the General Staff, it will most likely be transferred to the front line to participate in the war.

But it’s hard to say when this “follow-up” will come.
