Executive Producer Tom Cannon and Game Director Shaun Rivera revealed the latest information on 2XKO during Evo 2024. Cannon revealed preliminary monetization details about the free-to-play game during the conference.

“You can become the best player in the world without spending a dime!” Cannon enthused at the start of his presentation, before revealing that all characters are available through in-game purchases without having to pay (but with some effort).

However, Cannon also touched on how Riot is going to make money from the game.

“We’ll sell you something. But when we sell something, it’s going to be high quality,” Cannon explained. Examples include stickers and skins for various hero emotes!

In fact, the two leaders also showed a new skin called "Dynasty Ahri" and played a few seconds of game footage. Cannon mentioned that this skin not only modified the model and visual effects, but all skins will have nine color schemes to choose from.

Cannon also noted that this Ahri skin will be unlocked through the game's first battle pass in the upcoming Alpha test. Overall, this monetization system is very similar to the way League of Legends works, but pricing and further details are still unclear.
