However, this also led to the prevalence of the trend of "focusing on cursive script and neglecting regular script and regular script". There are two copies of Zhao Mengfu's Lin Huang Ting Jing in existence. One is kept in the Palace Museum in Beijing. It has no year and the seventh line is missing. The other is the one in the collection of Xiang Yuanbian in Poly. This work is of higher quality, the most complete content, and has the most seals. There are also inscriptions by various authors at the end of the volume.The "Lin Huangting Jing" currently on the market is generally the Palace Museum version. Although a few are Poly versions, they have taken the seals in the volume and the inscriptions at the end of the volume, and are not complete.

This post was written in the sixth year of the Yuan Dynasty (1302), and was originally kept by Xiang Yuanbian, who used the word "elephant" as the number in the Thousand Character Classic. It was later kept by Liu Shu, Xu Yingchu, and Zhang Yunzhong. It was circulated in Japan in modern times and reappeared in the world a hundred years later.

At the end of the volume of Lin Huang Ting Jing, there are postscripts by Deng Wenyuan, Gong Kui and Gong Jing. In his postscript, Gong Jing explained that Zhao Mengfu's Lin Huang Ting Jing was copied from Zhong Shaojing's copy in the Tang Dynasty, combining the brushwork of Wang Xizhi and Zhong Yao. Xian Yushu once said: "Zi'ang's seal, official, regular, running and cursive scripts are the best of the contemporary era, and his small regular script is the best among all his calligraphy."

Zhao Mengfu's small regular script was inspired by the Jin, Tang and Song dynasties, especially the two Wangs, Zhong Shaojing, Chu Suiliang, Jiang Kui and others. The Huangting Jing was the model he studied all his life. This calligraphy is delicate and rich in movements. First, the momentum is taken in the air, then the pen is started along the tip, and after the pen is placed on the paper, the tip is adjusted and the strokes are mainly in the center. The strokes are graceful and varied, and the starting and ending points are twisted freely, which deeply captures the essence of Wang Xizhi.
