From July 15 to 17, the China-Russia "Joint Sea-2024" military exercise entered the maritime exercise phase. The Chinese and Russian naval fleets conducted multiple exercises such as formation movement, joint reconnaissance and early warning in the sea and air space near Zhanjiang to further enhance the joint military operations capabilities at sea.

After leaving the port, the Chinese and Russian naval fleets maneuvered towards the designated sea area, using the Chinese missile destroyer Nanning and the Russian frigate "Very Loud" as base ships, and quickly formed a combat formation to carry out joint reconnaissance and early warning exercises in accordance with the established plan.

The radar systems of each ship are on full-time alert, monitoring the situation in the training sea area in real time and implementing comprehensive early warning for nearby sea and air space.

The fleet quickly locked onto the enemy ships simulated by the Weishanhu ship and the Irkut oil tanker. The Nanning, Xiangliang, Linlie and Xianning ships opened fire in turn and successfully hit the target.

Xu Wenke, Chinese naval fleet:During the exercise, the Chinese and Russian warships adopted a mixed formation and alternating command mode, and continuously organized and implemented a number of practical exercises such as joint reconnaissance and early warning, and actual use of weapons. The command posts of both sides commanded efficiently, and the participating ships cooperated tacitly, overcoming the impact of bad weather, demonstrating the strong military qualities of both sides, and the exercise achieved the expected training goals.

During the exercise, two target aircraft attacked and the fleet quickly formed an air defense formation. The Nanning and Xiangliang used missiles, naval guns and other weapons to intercept the incoming anti-ship missiles simulated by the high-speed target aircraft.

As soon as the enemy situation in the air was lifted, the command post reported that people had fallen into the water in the training sea area, and immediately organized naval and air forces to carry out joint search and rescue. According to the instructions of the fleet, the Russian side quickly organized personnel to descend for rescue, while the Chinese ships Xianning and Dali launched salvage and rescue operations.

Chinese naval fleet Chen Qian:The crew overcame adverse factors such as strong winds and waves at sea and complex sea conditions, and coordinated with Russian ships and aircraft to quickly find the target that fell into the water and complete the search and rescue mission as soon as possible. In the next step of flight training, this joint exercise will be used as an opportunity to strengthen learning and exchanges with foreign militaries and continuously improve their own flight technology.

During the maritime exercise, the fleet also organized joint anti-submarine, anchor defense and other exercises, which fully tested the tactical command coordination and joint action capabilities of both sides.
