IT Home reported on July 16 that in April this year, Samsung announced that it had developed its first 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM memory and planned to start mass production in the second half of the year. Currently, the maximum speed of other manufacturers' LPDDR5X DRAM memory is 9.6Gbps.

Samsung Electronics has just announced that it has successfully completed the verification of the industry’s fastest 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM solution, which can be used in MediaTek’s next-generation Dimensity 9400 flagship platform to be launched in the second half of this year.

It is reported that the 16GB LPDDR5X memory packaging speed used in this verification reached 10.7Gbps, which reduced power consumption by more than 25% compared with the previous generation of products, while also improving performance. This will bring longer battery life to mobile devices and further enhance local AI performance, thereby speeding up the calculation of AI functions such as speech-to-text without the need for server or cloud access.

Samsung said that this 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X memory is based on 12nm process technology, with performance improved by more than 25% and capacity increased by more than 30% compared to the previous generation. IT Home noted that the memory also expands the single-package capacity of mobile DRAM to 32GB, meeting the needs of end-side AI applications for high-performance and large-capacity memory.
