The special lecture "Master Classroom - Go to the Science Hall and Listen to Academicians' Lectures" jointly sponsored by the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission will be held at 2 pm on July 27 (Saturday) at the Louvre Hall on the 2nd floor of Building 1 of the Shanghai Science Hall (No. 84, Yandang Road, Huangpu District). The lecture invited Academician Chen Xiaoya, a famous plant physiologist, to give a keynote speech entitled "Love Plants, Build a Beautiful Home".


Academician Chen Xiaoya is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World. He is currently a researcher at the Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology), a researcher at the Shanghai Chenshan Scientific Research Center, and the president of the Chinese Society of Plant Physiology and Molecular Biology. He has been engaged in plant secondary metabolism and cotton biology research for a long time. So far, he has published about 200 papers, applied for/authorized more than 20 patents, and edited the sixth edition of "100,000 Whys·Plant Volume". In 1999, he won the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, in 2008 he won the Ho Leung Ho Lee Science and Technology Progress Award, in 2015 he won the Shanghai Science Education Innovation Award for Outstanding Science Popularization Figures, in 2017 he won the Shanghai Natural Science First Prize, and in 2023 he won the Wu Zhengyi Botany Award for Outstanding Contribution.
