2024 is a special year for MSI notebooks. The first MSI notebook was launched in 2004, and this year marks their first twenty years. Coincidentally, Bilibili World, and also on the eve of the 20th anniversary offline exhibition of MSI notebooks, on July 11, MSI notebooks and NVIDIA held a media communication meeting for the MSI RTX40 series notebooks.

First, Mr. Zhuang Zhengyong, General Manager of MSI Notebook Greater China, and Zhang Wujiang, Director of NVIDIA China OEM Sales, reviewed the development of MSI notebooks over the past 20 years. MSI notebooks have been working closely with NVIDIA to launch different products for various user needs such as high performance and productivity.

Afterwards, Mr. Xie Liangqin, product manager of MSI notebooks, told us about the current lineup and positioning of MSI notebooks, as well as a number of MSI pioneered technologies, and the development secrets of some devices from concept to actual implementation. Finally, he also showed us the new features that MSI notebooks will have in the future, such as the MSI AI artist creation tool and the MSI Me mobile app, which is very exciting.

Compared with the die-casting process used in general notebooks, MSI notebooks use the ATT (Advanced Injection Molding) process in the manufacture of metal bodies, which can produce a smoother surface.

MSI uses a large area of vacuum chamber heat sink in Titan 18 Ultra, which is a solid guarantee for the device to achieve 270W performance release.

In the initial design, the tail of the Stealth 14 AI Studio was just an ordinary RGB light strip, but after modification, it finally formed the more distinctive "STEALTH" word. In order to achieve this effect, the screen hinge, heat dissipation module and other parts need to be specially customized.

The upcoming MSI AI Artist will be able to work closely with MSI Chat, so users can instruct AI to generate images using only natural language, without having to spend a lot of time filling in keywords and setting options. It is worth mentioning that these AIs are all run on the computing power of the notebook itself, and no data will be uploaded, which also avoids privacy issues.

MSI Me is a mobile app that allows users to monitor the status of their laptops and perform a series of operations such as shutting down the laptop. In addition, MSI Me can also help users quickly locate nearby repair centers.

The upcoming MSI laptops will be equipped with the latest generation of AMD Ryzen AI 300 and Intel Core Ultra 200V processors, and of course RTX 40 series laptop GPUs.

In the following time, Mr. Wang Peng, product manager of NVIDIA China, introduced us to NVIDIA's latest progress in AI, including applications such as ChatRTX, ComfyUI and NVIDIA ACE.

Covert Protocol is a demo created by Inworld AI in collaboration with NVIDIA that shows the possibilities of future game NPCs. The technical demo uses Inworld's AI engine and integrates Riva automatic speech recognition for accurate speech-to-text conversion. Although the NPC currently speaks English, it is actually possible to communicate with the NPC in Chinese or English. The demo also integrates NVIDIA Audio2Face to provide realistic facial animations.

ComfyUI can operate Stable Diffusion in the form of nodes, which can more accurately control the generated image

In the latest version, ChatRTX adds support for Zhipu AI's ChatGLM3-6B, a Chinese LLM, as well as voice input and image search.

Finally, the MSI notebook product manager and NVIDIA China product manager had a technical exchange Q&A session.

MSI also displayed several laptops on site, ranging from mainstream to high-end, high-performance and thin and light, gaming and creator, etc. We also took photos of several interesting devices on site. Here are their photos and introductions:

Titan 18 Ultra 2024 is the flagship of MSI gaming laptops. It uses up to Core i9-14900HX and RTX 4090 laptop GPU, with a performance release of up to 270W. It is also equipped with 4K@120hz MiniLED Glazed Moon Screen Pro. We have also conducted an in-depth review of it before, and you can click here for details.

The Stealth 14 AI Studio 2024 is a thin and light notebook. The design of the C-side edge is also very interesting. It is not a conventional flat design. What is more noteworthy is its configuration: in a sufficiently thin body, it is equipped with a Core Ultra 7 155H and RTX 4060, which is unambiguous in performance.

Another thin and light notebook, the Creator Z17 HX Studio 2024, is also very distinctive in design and configuration. The CNC one-piece metal body gives it a full texture. Due to its large size, it can accommodate the highest Core i9-14900HX and RTX 4070 laptop GPU.

The Star Shadow 14 Air is a gaming laptop for mainstream players, which can be seen from the configuration of the 13th generation Core i7 and RTX 4060. Although it is positioned as a mainstream laptop, the Star Shadow 14 Air also pays attention to the appearance design. I personally like its use of transparent plastic components - even if the main material remains unchanged, the addition of transparent components can still make the whole machine look well layered.

In addition, it is worth noting that in addition to the conventional configuration, the notebook specification table exhibited by MSI also includes a column for GPU AI computing power. From the content of this exchange meeting, it can also be seen that in addition to maintaining its usual advantages in gaming experience, MSI notebooks can also apply past design experience to the upcoming AI PC wave, achieving comprehensive proficiency in gaming and productivity.
