this black guy is called mu yingxiong, from the democratic republic of the congo, and is a doctoral student majoring in internal medicine at china medical university. this is the sixth time that mu yingxiong has provided pre-departure training for medical aid teams in africa.
"more than ten years ago, i came to china to study medicine at my father's suggestion. now, i am a doctoral student majoring in internal medicine at china medical university. during my study and life in china, i have deeply felt the chinese medical aid team's spirit of foreign aid, which is not afraid of hardships, is willing to make sacrifices, saves lives and heals the wounded, and has boundless love. i hope that through my own efforts, i can become an ambassador of friendship between china and africa, build a bridge of friendship between china and africa, bring the benevolence and medical skills of chinese doctors back to africa, and contribute my own strength to building a china-africa health community." mu yingxiong said.
sun yingxian, director of the department of cardiology at the first affiliated hospital of china medical university, praised mu yingxiong. he introduced mu yingxiong as a very outstanding student in their department. he is diligent, hardworking, and deeply trusted by patients. the department has set up a research topic specifically for him, hoping that he can apply what he has learned to his own country and help improve the local medical level.

"many of these medical team members are my teachers. every time i give a lecture, they take notes very seriously. when i tell them about the hopes african patients have for doctors, i can feel their enthusiasm and love in their eyes. they leave their families without regrets and bring the spirit of saving the dying and the wounded and the spirit of benevolence to the african people," mu yingxiong said with emotion.
over the past 60 years, china has sent tens of thousands of medical teams to african countries, treated hundreds of millions of patients, trained a large number of medical talents for african countries, and left behind a "medical team that cannot be taken away."
in 2021, mu yingxiong visited his predecessor, mr. tai shikun, who also graduated from china medical university. mr. tai shikun was a member of the first batch of chinese medical teams sent to tanzania in 1964.
"chinese doctors aiding foreign countries have demonstrated their boundless love through their actions and have won recognition and respect from the african people, which i admire very much. they are the real heroes and role models in my heart," said mu yingxiong.
