china daily, september 9: recently, the guangxi qinzhou nixing pottery contemporary design exhibition, with the theme of "intangible cultural heritage century journey nixing resounds", was unveiled at the china millennium monument in beijing.
as part of the chinese traditional craft revitalization theme design exhibition, qinzhou city organized more than 30 arts and crafts masters, led by national intangible cultural heritage inheritors li renqi and lu jingping, and invited 7 professors and ceramic artists from beibu gulf university. a total of more than 100 works were exhibited. the works ranged from traditional arts and crafts display ornaments to contemporary art modeling works and travel products for young people, showing that qinzhou nixing pottery is constantly changing and developing under the impetus of contemporary design.
as a grand appearance of guangxi's national intangible cultural heritage in beijing. since the 20th century, nixing pottery has gradually emerged from the trough and the industry has been revitalized under the attention of the qinzhou municipal party committee and municipal government. from one enterprise in the early 2000s to nearly 900 enterprises and studios, with more than 20,000 employees and 295 arts and crafts masters at all levels, qinzhou nixing pottery industry has flourished in the 20th century.
"nixing xiangdangdang" shows the unique craftsmanship and brand influence of nixing pottery. nixing pottery is rich in iron and other metal elements. after high-temperature firing, it will make a loud "dangdang" sound when knocked. therefore, the name of nixing pottery is passed on by word of mouth.
